  • Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the design of highways and roads, and waterfront and aviation infrastructure projects.
  • Design alignments and profiles, geometric layouts, utilities and drainage infrastructure, and develop plans, specifications and construction estimates.
  • Take responsibility for performing complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Perform engineering calculations and create technical reports.
  • Provide engineering services during construction, including responding to requests for information, reviewing material submittals, and performing construction inspections.
  • Work independently on small to medium size tasks and function as a technical specialist or project manager.
  • Support the development of new and existing Transportation clients in Hawaii and the Pacific Region.Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
    • Hawaii PE license strongly preferred or ability to obtain prior to hire.
    • Minimum 4 years of experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
    • Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office programs.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Preference given to local candidates.
    • Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
    • Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3D.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans.
