talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Project
Environmental Planner/Scientist to work in a technical support role
with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a
dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a

position located in our Honolulu, HI
office.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESThe successful candidate will:
- Split time and responsibilities between field assignments (20%)
and office assignments (80%).
- Lead portions of technical project work from project scoping
through final deliverables under the direction of senior
staff.
- Apply academic and industry knowledge as well as learnings from
prior work experience to execute project work.
- Apply a level of understanding, beyond working knowledge, of
field work and office-oriented tasks, regulations, etc., to
complete work assignments.
- Provide training, guidance and informal mentoring to junior
staff on their projects and within their technical discipline.
- Under the direction of the senior staff, participate in
communications with client, agencies, and internal teams within
their discipline.
- Perform site reconnaissance to observe existing conditions,
assess site access and identify important site features.
- Conduct research and compile information in a clear and concise
manner appropriate for transmitting complex issues to the
public.
- Write professional-quality reports. Prepare
professional-quality maps/figures.
- Assist with the development of technical scopes of work,
subcontractor scopes and estimating costs for proposal efforts on
small- to medium-sized project opportunities.
- Attend project meetings with clients, regulators, and
contractors.
- Perform all work in accordance with company and client Health &
Safety protocols.
- Demonstrate our foundational safety
behaviors.SKILLS/EXPERIENCERequired Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental
Science, Natural Resources or a related biological field.
- 4+ years of related consulting experience preparing and
managing the development of environmental planning (NEPA and HEPA)
and permitting (Clean Water Act Section 404 and 401, Stream Channel
Alteration, Special Management Area, NPDES, etc.) documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be
proficient at writing technical reports to meet project
requirements.
- Able to work independently on individual tasks supporting
technical work and exhibit the ability to manage tasks and perform
work on multiple projects or multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Desire to learn and grow in their profession, demonstrate a
positive attitude, strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility,
and ownership.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to perform
critical thinking.
- Experience delivering environmental planning and permitting
projects for a variety of agencies.Preferred Skills
- Master's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental
Science, Natural Resources, or a related biological field.
- GIS mapping, data analysis, and data management skills
preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal laws and
regulations, in particular Hawai'i Revised Statutes Chapter 343
requirements.
- Experience delineating wetlands and streams and/or conducting
biological monitoring.
- Experience preparing cost proposals and work plans.About Haley

$85,000 - $115,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon
a variety of factors such as education, related work experience,
certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley &
