Position Summary
The Quality Specialist is responsible for performing oversight activities to ensure the highest standards of patient care, safety, and compliance with all regulatory and quality initiatives. This role involves conducting audits, analyzing data, and ensuring the organization meets or exceeds state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:


  • Review of medical charts and documentation to ensure assessments, care plans, and progress notes, meets quality standards.
  • Identify risk of substandard care and noncompliance.
  • Utilize chart audit tool which includes Medicare Conditions of Participation.
  • Collaborate with leadership and agency staff to find solutions when problems are identified
  • Analyze and assist with tracking data to identify trends, outcomes, and areas of improvement and report accordingly.---Provide education and training as needed to staff on best practices for delivering high-quality hospice care, focusing on regulatory compliance, patient safety, and patient-centered care.
  • All other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

    • Demonstrated skill in data collection and analysis, proficiency in both written and oral English language communication, familiarity with electronic medical records, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
    • Strong understanding and knowledge of compliance regulations and standards.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work harmoniously with a broad range of staff, be open to conflicting opinions, and to maintain good relations with staff and organizational leadership.
    • Has a commitment to quality, ethical conduct and judgment that is in harmony with the mission and values of Navian Hawaii.
    • Attention to detail
    • Familiarity with hospice care regulations, especially those set forth by Medicare and state healthcare agencies

      Experience and Educational Requirements

      • Registered Nurse (RN) with a current license in good standing to practice as a registered professional nurse in the State of Hawaii is preferred.
      • Experience in hospice desired

        Hours:

        • Generally, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., HST.
