OfficerDEPARTMENT: PACIFIC - Construction and/or O&MREPORTS TO:
Lead SSHO / Program ManagerSUMMARY: The Site Safety and Health
Officer implements procedures to prevent and eliminate injury and
illness to employees and assist the company to comply with safety
laws, and maintains compliance of various construction and/or
O&M Project Sites.DAWSON is a Native Hawaiian Organization 8

- Responsible for identifying hazardous workplace
conditions.
- Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and
coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical
hazards.
- Participates and develops the training of employees on safety
policies, procedures, regulations.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health
and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained
and prepared according to established guidelines.
- Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents
and identifying safety measures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by
management.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Indirectly supervises employees.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the
organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include addressing complaints and resolving
problems.QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university
required.
- CHST-Construction Health and Safety Technician. REQUIRED
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction health and
safety field required.
- Or any additional certifications that may supersede the
above.
- Familiarity with health and safety standard concepts, practices
and procedures required.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication
skills.
- Other skills as required.COMPETENCIES:Managing People -
