Sr. Accountant for a Financial Reporting & Compliance

Bishop & Company is seeking a Sr. Accountant for a Financial Reporting & Compliance department for a privately run American supermarket, retailer and restaurant franchiser headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii.

This is a full-time, exempt position with excellent benefits (waiting period may apply) and the individual will be based at our corporate office in Honolulu, Oahu. Flexible work schedule; some overtime may be required.

Essential Job Functions:
--- Serve as administrator for licenses and permits software
o Monitor 400+ licenses for expiration
o Oversee/complete license and permit renewals, new applications, and dissolutions. This process includes (a) communicating with internal and external contacts to obtain relevant data and resolve any issues, (b) completing all forms and steps, and (c) receiving, distributing, and retaining documents.
o Maintain/update license and permit data
--- Complete various compliance-related filings and reports
o Complete annual census reports for SFOC companies; gather and maintain data for these reports
o Complete other miscellaneous filings (monthly/weekly)
--- Prepare/review recurring accounting schedules/financial statements for SFOC companies, related to
o Internal quarterly financial statements
o Internal Board slides presentations
o Annual audits with external accounting firms
o Annual award schedules
o Miscellaneous internal reports
o When these schedules/statements are prepared by other staff, review and provide feedback/corrections
--- Supervise outsourced resources
--- Gain competency in financial reporting software; edit reports and create/run custom reports to fulfill internal requests
--- Assist with ad hoc/miscellaneous compliance and financial reporting tasks
--- Ensure completeness and accuracy of data
--- Follow established standards, procedures, and applicable laws
