This role requires a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in shipyard operations and a strong ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.The Estimating Manager will be responsible for final submittal of complex cost estimates and bid packages provided to U.S. Navy and commercial customers.Estimating Manager Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating team in developing cost estimates for ship repair and maintenance projects.
• Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate estimates.
• Develop and maintain standardized estimating processes and tools to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimates.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements and budgets.
• Monitor and analyze project costs to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior estimators to develop their skills and knowledge.Estimating Manager Position Requirements
  • Knowledge of Navy Vessels and ship construction methods
  • NAVSEA standards as well as federal and state regulations
  • Ability to read technical drawings and understand government contracts.
  • Experience with proposal writing.
  • Highly experienced with Microsoft Office, Excel.
  • Obtain and maintain TWIC and Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites
